EX3 in Use
A Hands-On Platform for Material Development

The EX3 is designed for teams that want to work directly with materials, not just finished filament. Use it in education, research, recycling, and professional development environments to explore extrusion, process control, and filament production workflows.

Students and researchers working with a Filabot EX3 Extruder Setup in a material science lab
The EX3 gives education programs, research teams, and material developers a hands-on way to explore filament extrusion, recycling, and process control.
Professionals working with a Filabot EX3 Extruder Setup in a modern business and research environment
The EX3 supports professional material development workflows for teams building more control into filament production.
Built From Real Feedback
Designed for the way users actually work.

The EX3 was shaped by feedback from users across education, research, MakerSpaces, and recycling environments. It was built for teams that need more material flexibility, easier adoption, smoother control, and a scalable path into complete filament production workflows.

Designed to Innovate With You
Built for Material Flexibility, Process Control, and Better Filament Workflows
High Torque, Precision Controlled Extrusion
The EX3 delivers high torque and smooth, precision controlled extrusion to support stable screw speed, consistent flow, and repeatable high quality filament production, even when processing demanding materials.
Up to 425°C Processing Capability
With high thermal stability and extended temperature capability, the EX3 opens access to advanced polymers, high performance materials, and demanding R&D applications.
Advanced Screw and Nozzle Architecture
A long 14:1 L/D barrel improves mixing, melting consistency, and process control while minimizing material degradation. Interchangeable screws and nozzles allow users to optimize for different materials, fillers, and applications.
Broad Material Compatibility
From standard polymers to powders, additives, filled materials, and recycled feedstocks, the EX3 was designed for material flexibility. Advanced feeding and anti-clog support improve flow consistency across a broad range of formulations.
A Scalable Platform You Won't Outgrow
The EX3 serves as the foundation of a broader material development ecosystem, allowing users to expand into cooling, spooling, recycling, and larger workflows as their needs evolve.
Filabot Workflow
From Material to Filament. Fully Controlled.
Step 1
Reclaim
Prepare plastic waste, failed prints, scrap, or recyclable material for reuse.
Step 2
Extrude
Convert pellets, regrind, or prepared material into filament.
Step 3
Cool
Stabilize and control the filament as it exits the extruder.
Step 4
Spool
Collect finished filament into clean, usable spools.
Step 5
Print
Use the finished filament in 3D printing applications.

For users working from raw pelletized feedstock, the workflow may begin at extrusion. For users recycling material, the workflow can begin with reclaiming plastic before extrusion.
