The Filabot Recycling Program is something we've been working on for quite some time. It's been developed into a fully fledged service for users who are working with filament and other materials in the 3D printing space and want to be environmentally friendly with their practices.
It currently costs us $6.27 to recycle one pound of failed prints back into filament. We are not making money on this, but it is worth it for us. We want to be as transparent as possible and we recognize that this isn’t the end-all-be-all solution. Rather, it is a stepping stone towards an ever-evolving service that values our customer's needs as well as a sustainable solution. As more users sign-up, costs will decrease and more possibilities will open up for where we send, use and donate our filaments.
How It Works
- Weigh out the amount of failed prints
- Enter the amount of failed prints (in pounds) into the quantity box
- Place Order
- Mail failed prints to Filabot
- PLA Only
- Ship back in boxes
